*MASTERCLASS* Faceted Stone Set Ring

Service Description

This class is perfect for those makers out there who are keen to progress their skills. TELL ME MORE..... The day will begin with making a simple silver ring, either with a rectangular wire or a d wire. We will then add the setting, which will need to be carefully shaped to fit the ring and soldered. Once the ring is complete and polished, you will learn tube setting techniques by using a burr to make a seat for the stone and pushing the metal over to hold it in place. You will be given extra stones, tube and a burr to take home so you can practice your new skills. IS THIS CLASS RIGHT FOR ME?........ This class is not suitable for beginners. You will need to feel confident working with silver. We ask that you have some experience setting cabochon stones so you are comfortable with the basics. The stones we are using are 3mm so it's small and fiddly, so this class might not be suitable for everyone. This class is for over 18's only WHAT SHOULD I BRING?........ Please bring some lunch! We will take a short break in the middle of the day to refuel. We will also keep you topped up with refreshments and sweet treats throughout the day. A notebook is a good idea, as well as glasses if you need them THE IMPORTANT BIT...... Please ensure that long hair is tied back and that you do not wear floaty sleeves or open toe shoes. Your safety is our priority! This class runs from 10am-3.30pm, although the end time is approximate and may run over slightly Please note - We require a minimum attendance for this workshop to go ahead.
